February 8, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Three mile out + three mile back on the transitway. Didn't want to deal with shitty snow conditions elsewhere.

Out in 21:54 (Strong head wind, 15MPH +)
Back in 19:53

So right now my R achilies is sore. I noticed NOTHING in it for the past week. My right calf was a little sore for about 2 days after my 16 miler a few weeks back, but thats it. Outside of minor aches that subside after a day or so, I've been fine. Walking to class today my R heel is a little tight, but I'm not concerned. Started my run and it was still a little tight for the first two miles. Little worse on the third and it stayed about there with a little tweak here and there on the way back. I'm still not alarmed. When I start walking and standing is when I notice it. Walking, it starts to get tight and sore quickly. When standing, I try to put my weight on my L leg. Tried to do a couple of toe raises just to test it out and it was pretty painful at the heal. Stopped that right away.

The only thing that I can think of is new shoes. I got new shoes on Saturday, but they are the same pair. Only difference is the last pair is Mizuno Wave Elixir 4 and these are the Mizuno Wave Elixir 5. But there doesn't seem to be a lot different between the two. I wore them around the house on Saturday and then threw the orthos in them and ran in them sunday and today. This is what I ALWAYS do with new shoes, so I don't know why I'm having problems this time.

It's also worth noting that this is my classic achilies pain I had throughout all of high school. Pain in the heel, but it doesn't hurt when I touch, pinch or massage there. Soreness is in the upper calf. So I'll just do the usual treatments that I did then and hope for the best.

Anyways, will likely take tomorrow off and aqua-jog instead. I hope this doesn't last too long
