South Eugene AT

February 10, 2010 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: overcast, mid 40s

Comments:
TIRED today, AGAIN. Legs weren't mega-trashed but they didn't feel good at all. I debated on the run over -- the PRE loop, then Fairmount -- whether or not to even do the AT, but when I got to Amazon, I figured I'd just do it and not care about the pace -- just do "pure AT", effort-based.

Good call. First lap I felt AWESOME; probably the best I've felt on an AT this year. Kept that going, with easy breathing and big focus on FORM. Only minor "effort" in the last mile, especially when the wind kicked up out of the south. Trail was in OK shape: soggy on the south end.

The splits: 5:52, 5:46, 5:42.

Pretty good, considering my energy and how good I felt (and "not trying").

Felt decent on the cooldown, even. Ran this in the Nimbus, too. No more stupid Marathoners.
