Sheldon PM track session

February 12, 2010 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50, intermittent mist, WINDY

Comments:
Time for the 2nd installment of 500/200s. Felt pretty good on the warmup, but a bit trashy on the strides.

Jeff ran the first 500 with me, then I was solo on the rest of those. However, he did run the last 2 x 200s with me, which was a HUGE help. The splits:

91.3 (29), 34.1 (2:09)
92.4 (33), 33.4 (1:56)
93.1 (36), 32.4 (2:13)
91.2 (41), 31.6

I was pretty annoyed at the slowness of the 500s, but it was VERY WINDY -- felt like running into a wall from 100-300. I recovered fairly quickly, but, like usual, my slog-jogs slow as the workout progresses. At least I'm keeping track of it.

Primary deficit: HOLDING FORM. This is a muscular issue; it's just plain HARD to run upright/forward and get the legs moving that fast. The fast recoveries are indicative that I could energetically go faster, but it's just been a LONG TIME. (Me love you LONG TIM!)

Just a few laps cooldown, as I'll be back for a track session w/a HS patient this afternoon...
