Exercise Type: Run
Weather: SUNNY! DRY! 55F
Comments:
After the revelations about my form this past week, I figured I'd change it up a bit and put it to practice. Rather than "Goce-Dogg" miles, I did straight 200 repeats. 200m "quick", 100m walk rest, 100m jog into the next one. The intent was to give myself enough rest so that I'd be able to maintain optimal form over the course of many repeats. It was pretty successful. :)
Easy 3 with Jeff. Legs felt OK. 8x50m strides over 2 laps jog. I THOUGHT about doing a "tire-out" hard K, but I decided to not be greedy. I'm glad I didn't.
Jeff and I started out going back and forth "leading". He began to peeter out after 6. He wound up doing 1-6, 8, and 11 with me. I did 14 in all.

They ALL FELT GREAT. VERY SMOOTH and VERY LITTLE EFFORT. :) They felt SOOO GOOD. The nice thing about Jeff peetering out was that he was able to give me form feedback. Turns out that when I'd try to "reach" a bit, I'd slip back into posterior tilt. It was a challenge to open up the stride and maintain neutral/anterior.
But really, the coolest part was that, until maybe the last 2-3, I didn't break from "easy breathing pattern" til about 125-150m -- otherwise, big, DEEP breaths. :)
Pulled the plug after 14. Could've done some more but the effort was beginning to creep and I didn't want to strain and lose form.
Did an easy mile+ with Jeff, then I found a GINGERBREAD Clif in my trunk -- a huge find! -- inhaled that, and went for another 3 solo.
TERRIFIC WORKOUT. The best I've felt running that fast in YEARS. Reminds me of the HS coaching days...sunny days, quick repeats on a Friday afternoon... :)
