So today was day 2 of confrence and I ran the open mile. I was in the slow heat which sucked but going into the race I definitly had high hopes of running another sub 4:20 after last nights performence. Me and Sly talked the night before and it was set up so Kurt would pace me as long as he could to try to run a mid to low 4 teen. My legs felt good when I got up this morning. I felt good on the warmup and knew good things were gonna happen when I was sub 7:30 on the warmup and I felt like I hadn't run at all. Was on the outside of the line which was good. There were a lot of elbows at the begining but I got clear coming around the first turn and just settled in. Kurt grabbed the lead on the backstreach of the first turn and I just settled in on his back. Just got in rythum. That worked well up to the half. Kurt was slowing down on the 4th lap. I clipped him kinda there and he sped up again. We hit the 800 in 2:06 which was the time we talked about. At that point I passed Kurt and just drove on my own. Thing slowed down a little bit there I started dropping 33's which was not what I'd hoped but oh well. Like no one was around so I think I could have gone faster with someone there. Final time was 4:19.7 so Austin and Taylor definitly better pay up when I get back. Then the luck started to happen. The fast heat dicked around which worked out perfect for me. They went out in 72 first quarter which made me extatic. They picked it up after that but my time still held up for SECOND!!!!!! I'm all confrence!!! I got so lucky though the fast heat just had idiots. I'm still really happy though. Beautiful cool down through Brandeis's campus. THere's a lake that was sweet and it was really nice so I got a nice long run in. My legs are like done now though. Not much left. I didn't feel too bad after the mile but 9 miles after took it out of me.
