Pseudo-track workout + PRE

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40-50, rain, hail, high winds, shit

Comments:
TIRED today. AWFUL WEATHER, with on/off pouring rain and sun -- classic "spring" weather. Worked til noon then went over to the track solo. Did an easy 3 warm-up: no rain at the time, but very windy. Got back to the track, where they were setting up for a HS meet. Did 4 laps, including 2 w/8 strides.

The plan was to do repeat ROR Ks. Right when I was about to start, the HAIL came, flying at about 45 deg angles. I went anyway. Felt like SHIT -- my legs were both numb and burning. The ROR was equally awful. The hail let up a bit near the end of the interval, but as I ran the last lap I KNEW I had to bag it. Between the weather, my energy, and having HS kids all over the track, today was NOT the day.

I don't even know the K split, but it was terrible. Jogged over to the car and drove home.

Felt some weird heart shit, however: like irregularly SLOW heart beat. A little disconcerting. I pulled over and got out of my car, in case I passed out in the car. I never felt like I would but...you never know.

Drove home, then ran another 6.5 (the big PRE loop) from there. TERRIBLE weather again, w/rain+hail + wind. I felt EXHAUSTED. Eek.

Not a good day -- really glad I did NOT race at Willamette.

Hung out with BECK again tonight; went to the Ninkasi tasting room, then to Papa's Soul Food Kitchen, which is quickly becoming one of my all-time favs.
