Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
So CoachL told us to take 2 day off so I did.
2010 Track: A retrospective
So track season for me was obvisouly a lot better than Cross. Indoor especially was pretty magicial. I improved my mile time by over 10 seconds. Ran consistently under 2 for the half. Sent a school record. Tried a new event. In the mile finnished no lower than 2nd. And was All-UAA.
I'm dissapointed in how the season enede but looking at all that I accomplished I'm astounded. In december when I ran 4:29 if you'd have told me I'd do any of this I'd have probably laughed in your face. I guess I went in feeling like the big bad UAA was impossible to score in and that I'd never make an impact. You had to be super human to score in the confrence let alone get a medal. This year has shown me that anything is possible if you work hard. And I definitly worked hard for most of the year. I still sit and wonder how I managed to run that fast at Indoor confrence. And how I can consider the equlvilent of a 4:22 mile bad. I'm so blessed.
Things to work on in the future:
1. Extras.
I got away from them during outdoor and it showed. Gotta be as consistant as I was in cross and indoor. This includes, lifting, abs, pullups, pushups, streaches, roll, ICE BATH
2. Mind Set
I feel like I got complacent during outdoor. It showed in the extras and in my demenaor at workouts. Nothing will be given to you. You gotta take in and take every oppertunity to put yourself in a position to caplitize on others mistakes in races like in indoor. Also I felt like I was a little stuck up in workouts. Workouts are not a competation. Also don't limit yourself with your goals. Just race people and see what happens. Thats what you did in the indoor DMR.
3. Mental toughness
Need to be able to lead from the gun. Run even. Need to do a better job of learning paces and running even or negative in repeats and races. Your a horrible pacer. Get better. This will allow you to destroy people in any conditions and to respond when people pass you when your tired.
Thanks to people:
1. Kurt
Awsome in workouts and races. Really helped me do as good as I did and even though you don't want the credit your the reason that I got 2nd in indoor. Your the man and I'll always remember what you did for me this year. I'm forever in your debt for that indoor race. And your just plain awsome.
2. Elaine
You made me believe in myself that I could be good. And my high goals are because of you and what you did this year. I reach for the stars in the next years because of you.
3. Sylvester
Best MD coach ever. Taught me so much about training and racing. I'll always remember the lessons.
