Hoffman Park Trails

August 29, 2008 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 56F, sunny and nice

Comments:
Woke up early today and got some school stuff knocked out before going for a run. Felt good immediately today, which was sweet. The legs and lungs have a ton of energy, of late, but the legs are still trashy. Man, if I could just shake this trashiness...more easy running, I suppose.

In the mean time, I cannot help but fly through easy runs. I've done Hoffman Park Trails so many times that I know all these random "splits" from different points on the run. For example, from mom's to the start of the loop atop the Mound usually takes about 26 to 27 minutes. A faster day is in the 25s. Today without even "giving a fuck" I was 24:50. Up top I slowed it down. A "par" loop is about 7:20s. My first loop was 7:07, and after that I slowed to 7:14 before heading back. Per the shortened loop, I ran the lower level to "Big Bertha Hill" then bottomed out on Union Street to cut short back to Main.

Going down the hill and the last couple miles home I felt trashy. Good energy, great tempo, but trashy. Again, I gotta shake this! I gotta keep it easy...

Did circuits afterwards (which I need to start doing 2x/day), then did more errandy things. I'll run again with Will this afternoon.
