Good Tempo Run

June 17, 2010 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70 Sunny/ BEAUTIFUL!!

Comments:
warm-up: Soberlook to Veale to MLK
5 Mile Tempo: out 3, back 2 (with Chicago Chris)
cooldown: MLK mile, to Northside (with Chris), up North Park to Soberlook

We went out relaxed and this felt good. We were talking for the first three miles and had broken conversation even after that. I took my heart rate at 180, which didn't seem right so I took it again 30 seconds later at 154(?). My knee felt almost completely healthy. It didn't flair up at the end of my cooldown like it normally does, despite running on all pavement. Even the weather was amazing today.

Today, I really feel like I've made progress, in both my knee and overall fittness level, for the first time in about a month. I know I still have a long, long way to go, but this was a good step. It's days like today when I start to think I'm going to get a second chance in this sport, though it brings to mind how I screwed up the first time. I really want to take all my injury state: pain, misery, depression, etc and put it all way this year.
