River Path 400 repeats

June 25, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 60? pretty nice

Comments:
Got up EARLY today to get the run in before heading to Reno/CA. Thought about the track but the legs weren't feeling all that great; moreover, I didn't have a ton of time, so I drove to work and ran the river path.

Felt GREAT and pretty fast off the bat: like 6:30 to 6:10 as "warm-up" along the south side of the river trail. Pretty nice AM, too, with mostly sun and a touch of humidity.

Once on the north end, I did "fast" 400s along the marked path, with a minute jog backwards (30 back, then 30 to the marker), x5. OK splits:

1:19
1:16
1:14
1:13
1:13

Just couldn't seem to go much faster, but that's OK. I just need to get used to running 5ish pace again.

Work went by fast, but I was frantic to get ready for the trip: info on the race, driving stuff, acommodations, etc.

At noon I was in the car, driving on 58 to central OR. WAY COOLER DRIVE this way, compared to I-5. Once up on the plateau it was flat driving all the way to Reno. No speeding ticket, either!

STayed in Reno that night, and went to In N Out burger TWICE! SOOOOO F-ING GOOD!!!!!!!!111111111oneoneone
