Comments:
Quick run after work before the birthday festivities. I did a 'practice tempo' today to get the route down solid before I start these in 3 weeks. Basically I just wanted to be able to associate the spots on River Road with the distance markers now that Boots showed them to me. I wasn't actually running tempo, it was still an easy run, but I ended up going a bit faster just to get the feel for it. First 800M was a 3:10, next 800M was a 3:03 and I came through the mile in 6:13. Next 800M was 2:55 and the last 800M was 2:49 for a 5:44 second mile. Both felt effortless. Ran a bit farther down river road and hopped on the W River trails. Came back down those on a good clip. I didn't really ease the pace up until the last mile back home. I bet every mile I ran was sub 6:40 pace except for the first mile, last mile and the mile right I finished the uptempo part. I starting to feel pretty fit. I'm losing weight too. I used to weigh between 143-148 and now I'm in the 135-140 range. Lost a solid 7 pounds. I think it's a combination of my increased mileage, running in the hottest part of the day every day, my reduction of frozen pizzas in my diet and my increase of fruits and veggies. All of this means I've been feeling really good lately. I'm a lot stronger too, I can certainly notice the Yoga and I've only been doing it for two weeks.
