It was a very hot day for a race. I decided to take Andrew's advice and only slept 6 hours last night. After warming up for awhile I felt pretty good, I was lose and very ready to run. My hip was hurting a little on the warm-up, but didn't bother me at all in the race. I tried to go out at a good pace and my first mile was 5:37. I felt it was a pretty good starting pace. I tried to keep up with the pack and speed up through out. I thought when I was done that I had run a good race and really did my best. Mentally, that was one of my best races ever, and I was really happy with that. Looking at my mile pace(5:57) I was pretty disappointed. But I will run as hard as I can for the next two weeks and try to get my time better than a 29:45(estimated). I did some intense stretching and icing when I got back to the room, so hopefully my hip will not bother me tomorrow.
