Campus Loop/Workout With Billy

Weather: 50s, steady rain!

Billy and I agreed to run in the afternoon/night. However, it began to rain steady at 3ish. Despite that, we still went running, which was bad-ass. Will was supposed to run today with his teammate Martin, but Martin opted out, with will calling him "a pussy". Ha!

We headed out in shorts and jackets. We talked a bit about what Will does at CC practice. Besides a lot of calisthenics and short sprints, they don't do a lot of "LSD" or strength workouts, so I asked Will if he wanted to "run harder" today, and he said yes, so we headed to campus for a workout.

We did a 3x "ROR" workout. Starting at the IM fields, we went at "race pace" with controlled breathing for 90 seconds, then a ROR pickup of 30 seconds, then back down to race pace for 60 seconds. We did three of those, running up and down campus in the rain and wind. Will did a terrific job; if anything, being a bit too conservative, but by virtue of well-controlled breathing, which was cool.

Once we finished, we slowly jogged for a bit. I asked him what he thought of it, and he said, "That's the hardest thing I've ever done." Ha! That's great. He did a terrific job.

As for me, the slow jogging felt fine on the heel. We got in at least five (slow) miles.
