Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Weather was dry out for once, a good day for a tempo. Ran easy down W River road. Did some strides and stretched out on the flats then headed up the hill to the start. The plan was to start out easy and then cut down into a nice rhythm, For whatever reason, I did the math wrong in my head and saw my 400M split as 1:40 when it was a 1:20. So I cut down pretty hard after that because I thought I was running 6:40 pace. Came through the mile in 5:15, felt easy though. I kept the pace where it was, maybe backed off a bit. The second mile was a bit more difficult, because it had a rolling hill in it. My gut started to rot about 8 minutes in, so I decided to finish out with 3 miles and if I was feeling good, go for a 4th. Came through the 2nd mile with a 5:18 and did a 180? to reverse the course. Gut started to rot even more and then about 400M later I had to pull the plug because I was about to poop myself. Trotted 100M over to the porta potty to see it had a padlock on it, wtf? Thankfully there was another one about 600M down the road. Note that I had terrible gut rot all day and I did for the remainder of the run and all night as well. I think it was just an unlucky day to run a workout. Ran back on the River trails for 11
At least I felt good up until I pulled the plug. Wonder how the next two miles would have felt. Doing como relays next week.
