Weather: Rain and windy. But not too bad temperature wise

Bill Sudeck invite today. Definitly aquitted myself much better than I did last year. With my epic 29:00 showing that wasn't too hard. Went out in the front which I guess was fine it didn't feel like I went out very hard at all but I was still in second behind he-who-must-not-be-named. I can remember thinking around the 400 meter mark that I couldn't really get into a rythum with my legs and this race could be kinda iffy. Ran at the front pretty much until the top of the hill when I felt like everything in my upper body seized up. My arms and chest got tight and I definitly felt like I had a good chest cold then. So I slowed down and got passed by about 10 people which sucked. Thanks to Carter for kinda pulling me out of that funk at the top of the hill into the two mile mark. I recovered some what at the top of the top loop and was able to make up some ground on people coming down the hill but not as much as I like. Going into the field I didn't have my usual pep in the last 600 or so and I got outkicked by an Allegheney guy which pisses me off a lot. I assure all of you that it will be the other way around the next time we meet. I definitly feel like I had more in the tank at the end of this race which kinda pisses me off. I need to run up where Phil was and take people with me so that our team does awsome in the meets to come. Its definitly time to get back to work after this crappy sick week. I'll do what I do best in practice.
In the team race we got 2nd. Allegheney won with 19 points and we had 44. I could definitly tell Allegheney wasn't running all out. They were just shadowing me when I was leading during the first 2 miles and it seemed like that was what they did the rest of the time while was running badly in the middle to latter sections of the race. CoachL did tell us that they had planned on running with their top five together and we definitly forced them to run harder than that. But frankly we got our asses handed to us on a plate by them. In a competative championship race its not even close betweeen us and them. The score is only slightly lopsided becasue it was basically a duel meet between us and them. And for a dual meet score thats pretty lopsided. Theres a lot of work for us to do if we want to compete Nationaly and even to some degree Regionally. We had a good pack mentality just we need to move the pack up with Phil and move up in the race more. Hopefully the extra 2k will help with that because we've done no anerobic work yet and the more strength and arobic the race the better for us.
That said bring on CMU at Cooper's Lake!
