2 Things:
First: I ran 1:21 slower than I was supposed to, dropped off the group, cramped up badly, positive split by 46 seconds, ran a 6:03 last mile, and only was on pace for one lousy mile. I was beat by everyone remotely near me in every tempo and every race this year. My legs were pretty dead throughout. I am a much worse runner than I was two weeks ago.

Second: I could not have run this three days ago. My legs felt much, much better today. I barely coughed/hacked/sneezed the whole day up until the tempo. I am getting better from my cold, though not there yet. I didn't so much die today as I cramped up badly. When Carter passed me, I wasn't necessarily that tired, but my stomach and chest were killing me. That might have something to do with my inconsistent breathing.

As far as which is the story today, I don't know. I guess they both are. I am better than I was three days ago but a long way from where I was two weeks ago, which isn't good enough anyway.

The weather was nice.
