Not nervous at all today, kind of odd. Felt pretty good on the warmup, and the course was definitely in worse condition than the day prior. Some deep mud pits.

I tried to go out conservatively, went through the K in about 3:07. This damn race always gets out super fast. Mile 1 was about 5:09. I wasn't too happy with that. Wanted to be a bit slower, but the first mile is the flattest and fastest.

Tried very hard to stay relaxed on mile 2, came through the 3K in 9:47 (about 5:20 pace now). Again, kept pace for the next mile, 5K in 16:24 (still 5:20 pace) and I started to hurt a bit here. Made a small surge after 5K and couldn't really hold it. The rest of the race consisted of waves of recovery followed by an immideate hill to sap my energy. I tried to hold on the best I could. Around 7K to go I was hurting and a dickweed was yelling 1K to go! I started pushing, then about 200M later someone yells 800M to go, I pushed harder. Then maybe 200M later I see a sign that says 7K mark. Fuck. Ran up the steep hill and had nothing left. Recovered a bit on the downhill and pushed as hard as I could to the end. Didn't really get passed though. Last 3K was then ~10:36 to finish in 26:50. Not really happy about the pacing of the race or my >5:30 miles at the end, but whatevs. Griak is a tough course.
