A Good Day*

October 3, 2008 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 55 Sunny

Comments:
3.5 warm-up Veale down MLK to the park at the end of it
6x1200 with jogging in between 4:23, 4:14, 4:19, 4:19, 4:21, 4:23
3:00 recovery
Mile 5:33
3.5 cooldown back to Veale

On the warm-up, I was hacking, coughing, unable to breath deeply, and had an upset stomach. I could just see this falling apart. I struggled through the first three pretty badly. My heart rate was 192 after two of them. I was taking quick shallow breaths because that was all I could take. On the fourth one, I reached the defining moment of the workout. The pack split and I managed to stay right behind the front half. After that interval, I started to move back into the pack. For some reason, the workout started getting easier. I finished the workout where I should normally be on the team! I haven't done that in almost three weeks. My legs are still kind of beat up, though.

*This was a good day considering all factors, namely my recent struggles. It does not mean this was a good workout by my normal standards, but much, much closer.
