Coach moved a lot of people out of the top group today and told us to pick it up on the way back if we were feeling good. I came into this mentally tired, but there was really nothing wrong with me today and I haven't said that very often this year. At the turn-around every took off and it took me another mile and a half to catch back up to Robert and Ethan Teare. I finished with them, fairly relaxed although I felt it some whenever our pace dipped below 5:30ish. I had some minor stomach cramping but nothing serious. My heart rate was only 176. I felt dead during the 200s that were uphill but otherwise fine. My knee was also okay.
I have to be fairly pleased with this one. Nothing went terribly wrong and I stayed with the group (except Chris Kelly and Carter, but whatever...). This actually included the fastest 6 mile tempo I've ever done (33:45 for the LAST six miles).
This workout was actually faster than any tempo of remotely comparable length that I have ever done. I think this is the first time I've been able to say that about anything this year.
