October 4, 2008 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: sunny but crisp! ~high 30s ->40s
Comments:
I had a bad feeling about this Saturday AM run since I felt throbbing from my R achilles last night. But it turned out to be a scab/blister on my heel, rather than the tendon. It felt fine in the AM, so I ran on it.
It was a beautiful morning for a run: crisp, calm, sunny, but pretty damn cold. I started very easy down to the 'Toona trails, feeling pretty tired from a long week. I warmed up pretty good after the trails, and I felt pretty good in the 2nd half.
Once I got to downtown, I made a detour through the Farmer's Market in Phoenix Park. What a nice line-up! I didn't buy anything, obviously, but they had a ton of great veggies. Just Local Co-op had a stand there and they were making pico 'cakes, so I had one. YUMMY. That actually gave me a good energy boost for the rest of the run.
I ran across the bridge and down 1st Ave, where I got a glimpse of the staging area for the Homecoming parade, which is the most I've ever seen of the parade, career. Ho-hum.
I finished the run by going through campus, down Putnam, and then just straight up State St to Kevo's.
Pretty lazy afternoon the rest of the day, with a couple errands. The best part of the day was hanging in their back porch in the afternoon sun, sipping on some Spotted Cow and watching the Brewers. NICE DAY.
