Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I don't really know what to say about the race. I ran 27:33, was basically not a factor at all, but I guess its not bad considering the fact that I was still feeling the effects of what very well could have been the flu. Not to mention, I took a week and a half off and haven't ran faster than 6:40 pace in over two weeks.
But enough with excuses. I felt like ass during the race, and I ran like ass. My shin was 100% fine, so I guess that's good. I guess I could sit here and bitch about how I got soooo out of shape in my two weeks off...but I'm not, because that's not true. I'm in good shape, just not good form. I need to keep running and my legs will get back to full strength fairly quickly.
Either way, I have an MRI on Tuesday, if I don't have a stress fracture, that's awesome. I can keep doing my rehab/strengthening stuff so I can build some base for track.
I guess I'm a bit disappointed, slightly embarrassed, but mostly pissed about the past two weeks of my life. This is horse shit. The only thing that's keeping me going right now is the Pittsburgh Downtown 5 mile Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving and the fact that come time for indoor, I am going to deal the UAA a 3000 meter ass-kicking equivalent to the the one I've been taking from lady luck for these past two weeks.
If by some miracle I get my legs back by conference and have the opportunity to race, awesome, then I can give the UAA 8000m of ass-kicking.
