Was slightly worried that I would not have the motivation to race this race, worst weather for the race that I have experienced, stretch and some drills, didn't really get too cold waiting in the crowd for the gun.
Run for the Diamonds
101st Run for the Diamonds, started as close to the line as I could, felt that I should have received a seeded bit but I didn't, had to weave through people for the first 1200 or so, had no idea about position heading into the hill but figured I was near the front, first mile was 5:23, I think, slush on the road made the uphill hard to power up like I usually do, came through halfway just under 27 minutes and really opened up on the downhill sections, used windmills, a little hesitant with the slush but grew more confidant, after about the 2 mi, didn't really pass many runners nor was passed by many, someone shouted 21st at me, and another said top 30, figured I would at least finish better than last year, 28 second PR and improved my finish by 20 positions, still 13 places away from diamonds and 5 from a plaque, but I won "2nd" in my age group (not counting those in the top 15), fantastic way to start Thanksgiving and end this cross country season, met a runner who raced against Link in high school.

Threw my sweats on and cooldowned, didn't care what pace and my legs were pretty sore from the races, some stretching, talked with the race winner, Jon who coaches at NYU, thought that he looked familiar, time for turkey and pumpkin pie.
