December 6, 2010 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Ran out on North Park in the snow with Thea. The trails weren't that bad, but we had a few slips and slides. Really relaxing pace, a nice break from all the studying. No one really wanted to set the pace so the whole run was comfortable. (Went up to NP via soverlook). Hip and back were not bothering me at all.
Got back, did 6 striders around the track. Felt fine, but when I slowed down the insides of my knees felt kinda weird, like nothing was there. ???
Training room has very odd hours because of tests. I did the hips and back with no weight up on the track, and then went into the supply room and did hammies on the ball. Stoked to get more hammie exercises. Stretch and planks after. No ice either do it later tonight.
I have been talking about how this semester has gone with some people, and I want to get this off my chest. I dont want to make it seem like this semester was a failure. I dont want to come off as depressed. This was a tough semester, and I struggled a lot with myself. It doesnt mean that I wasnt happy though. I am grateful for all the people around me that kept me in it, even if they dont think they did anything. Everyone helped. We talked about being a team yesterday. I know the true importance now. I honestly thought I would never be able to run the way I used to this summer. I thought it was over. I stuck it through and I can see the improvements. Seeing the success stories on the team have inspired me to make it back to the level I used to be at, and with the extra chip on my shoulder destroy the barriers that used to stand in my way. I am not at the same level as I was last year, but there is no way to say which one was better.
