goodbye and good riddance 2010

December 31, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: FIFTY FIVE, PERFECT

Comments:
This year sucked. My track season got cut short because of injury after a good indoor season and better than expected 10k at Wake. I drank away the summer and a lot of my summer salary. I underachieved in cross country, the team missed nationals, I didn't come come anywhere close to my admittedly lofty goal of All-American, I even missed All-Region bý one place. I realized I wasted my college academic career by skating by most semesters and will graduate with an awful 3.4 and an equally awful 158 LSAT. I stopped going to Glee Club, slacked on my Phi Tau and Class Officer responsibilities, and didn't study for the LSAT to the fullest extent that I should have, all in order to commit myself to the cross country season. Last but not least, I was rejected from Teach for America.

So all of that is what I was thinking about all day today, and why I didn't end up doubling because I was too busy feeling sorry for myself. I finally got out the door at 4:20pm. All this being said, this run was a true blessing. I ran in short sleeves and running shorts; the weather was perfect. It rained the last half mile, baptising me of the year 2010. About 10 seconds before ending the run at my driveway, there was a firework in the near sky.

Even though there were a lot of major things that went awry this year, I went from having a thing for Mirela in January, to now coming up on 8 months together here at the end of December, a progression of events that is perfectly opposite of everything else spiraling downward from the beginning of this year to its end. I'm sure there were a lot more good things about 2010, but its just really hard to come up with things. I'm ready for a new year.
