Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
It isnt MLK day if you dont do a workout on MLK! Got to veale for practice at two. Did the Kamalsky warm up drill, then warmed up to MLK for the tempos. Jumped up to the 3k/5k group this week. I missed the first group to run out, so I ran by myself. Ran 10 min out, 2 min rest, 10 min back. I made it almost to 1.75 miles, but in the essence of logging ill round up. The pace was a little slower. I felt great on the way out, I surged when I knew I was slowing down, and I felt like I was going strong. Not to tired when I finished. The way back, the wind was against me, and I got tired. With about 4 minutes left, I could feel myself slipping, and my knee was beginning to pop a fair amount, more than usual. That bugged me. Tried to finish strong, but I was worn out (the goal of this workout was to be strong throughout, but I am still working on getting that endurance back). Warmed down with the mid distance guys, then did the last half mile on the track.
Stretched for a little, then went down to the weight room to lift(Day 1. Cleans and box work). Knee was a little off on some of the lifts, but it wasnt too bad. Feel like I am getting stronger. Stretched for a long time and then did abs. Iced knee afterward. I love going to practice and working out. I am glad to be back.
