Rough long on Shelburne

January 30, 2011 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Not too bad. The rest of the run made up for that.

Comments:
Mapped out a new route on Shelburne across Warrensville Center and out to Fairmount, ran it with Eric Dong. First seven went well: fresh scenery, almost sunny, birds singing... The way back went not so well. We started off a little quicker because it was downhill, and that was okay. However, by the time we were on North Park I wasn't feeling good, and after reaching coventry I felt terrible. I might have a cold of some sort, but I had some nasty phlegm built up in my throat, and when I would try to cough it out (which was often since I couldn't breathe right) I would invariably feel an intense wave of nausea. As we turned off Cedar, Eric suggested I stop at Fribley. Seeing no point in attempting to choke out another mile at a pace significantly slower than 8 a mile, I agreed and did so. Feeling better now but still disappointed about missing the last three miles of my run. I had planned to add a little 2-mile loop on northside to bring it over 16 but of course that was scrapped as well. Worst run I've had in a LONG time.

Sleep: 7hrs because the janitors woke me up by being loud in the hallway.
RHR: Missed it
