15*400 w/ 1:00rest, starting at sub 72.0 and descending to sub 68.0. splits - 70.9, 71.0, 70.0, 69.4, 69.7, 70.2, 69.0, 67.3, 68.7, 67.7, 66.3, 67.7, 67.6, 65.1, 66.9.
CD Little Italy loop w/ Jeff, then W St James loop w/ Ethan & Little Joe.
this workout was supposed to be tough, and after the first interval I was alone because we were being strict on the 1:00rest, EthanT wasn't with us, and CWade started fell a couple seconds behind per interval because his pace was a tad slower, so I was flying solo. I really wish Robert/Tim were healthy, and/or I worked out with CK or Mark.
But whatever onto the workout... I was debating when to start bringing the pace down, but it just happened naturally on the 8th interval because I got caught up with the sprinters or some group moving faster than me. Up until then I was just cruising at 69.4-71.0 not really thinking about pace, just coming through the 200 with Coach yelling ":34!" or ":35!" each time. The 12th and 13th were slower than I would like, and when I came through the 15th interval at 32.x, I couldn't pick it up and close harder than 66.9 which I'm kinda mad about. So that's the first thing I would have liked to have done better. The second thing is if I do this workout again, I should probably start at sub 70.0. But obviously I wouldn't have known that without doing the workout, so really the only disappointment was not being able to close the last 200 hard.
On the cooldown, somehow Ethan, Joe, and I turned the wrong way on Fairmount and was heading away from campus for about 3 minutes until we saw the church steeple at Coventry/Fairmount. We're retarded. No supplement work today because I got back from the cooldown @ 6:45 with a Class Officer meeting at 7:00 in Thwing.
