overall a successful meet for me :) glad to say i can say that with a smile on my face - no stress

was clear tho that i hadn't and don't know how to train as a mid-distance runner...(but have to remember i got no recovery time between my 8 and 2, and little before the 4)

first i ran the 800. was totally and completely nervous beforehand. almost decided not to run it. but as long as i kept busy (taking pics or jogging around) i kept myself from thinking about it.
i've never been more satisfied to say that i finally ran the 800 my way. i got out strong - really strong, and fast (i mean not sprinting obviously, but what really felt comfortable for me). the only difference (from my best races in middle school) was that i didn't have my endurance to finish the race (kick really hard like i usually do). hence, i clearly wasn't mid-distancely trained. at least the sprinting is bringing back my natural running style (which is pretty aggressive). i'll use spring break to get back into endurance shape. i can't wait to see what i can do!

i just got thru my sprinting events as best i could. they'll help me with my mid-distance races, but i kno the short races really aren't my specialty.
the 200 was ok (33.8), but i didn't go all out. not that i was exhausted, but my lungs were pretty worn out from the 800. swimming usually helped with that, but i don't swim anymore...
the 400x4 was decent. by that point my nerves were out of the way. i could just run. i ran fast, but never really sprinting (balls of me feet 'n all). i'll get there. there also wasn't any competition to turn me on - just the guys who immediately were too far ahead to pace me (by the time i got the baton to kate they were nearly at the next turn (80ish meters away). ended up running a 77.7

william really gave me a vote of confidence, reminding me to be patient. (i'm not naturally this calm about everything ;)
