hurdle intervals at outdoor track

I guess 3kers have their own workouts now. It was basically what the 1500 runners did, but her are moving into using hurdles. Couldnt ask for more.

Warm up to the outdoor track via little italy. Had to carry my spikes which is always annoying. Also, it was a lot warmer than I thought out. Had on way too many clothes.

Got to track, did a warm up routine from cross, then spiked up. Was kinda nervous for this workout. Nervous my knee would be tight, but it wasnt really. I havnt worn spikes that much, and I wondered how my legs would handle it. The only way to know is to go out there and do what needs to be done.

Workout was 4 x 450 fast, with ample rest, then 3 x 300 fast with 400 rest. Ran with Grogan, Nick, and John. Alternated going over hurdles at 33" (also were at odd places on track). Splits were

72, 75, 75, 75, 50, 48, 49

My flat land splits were basically as fast as my hurdle ones, which I find funny. Pace was ok definitely above race pace. I felt really flat footed and bulky. Coach could hear it in my slapping feet. Also I wasnt paying a lot of attention to what I was doing over the hurdle, not really approaching fast and leaving fast. I need to work on that, make sure it gets into the next workout. Otherwise, it was good for the first workout over hurdles. All I ask for is the opportunity.

Cool Down back via wade and art museum, then downstairs for lifting alone. Peter and nick werent around... It went ok I was sore during it. Back up for a nice stretch, roll, L7 then interesting abs. Iced while everyone else was finishing up. I was the last person out of the upstairs locker room.

I realized today that I have been waiting for this for a whole year. I may have not felt it in the workout today, but I will remember why I want to do this, remember what it is like. I am excited.
