WU: Veale up through Meadow to MLK to North Park to Coventry, pit stop, drills, etc.
Workout: 4x(3,2,1 Fartlek, equal recovery 3min between sets)
up North Park to Lee to South Park, around upper lake, Lee to Shaker to Eaton to South Park to North Park to bottom of lower lake, lower lake loop twice, Coventry to Fairhill, ended in front of Fairhill Village
CD: Fairhill to MLK back down to Veale
I thought this might end poorly, either because I am out of shape, or my stomach hurting, or my foot hurting, but I was waiting for the fall that never came. I managed to stay with the pack for the entire workout except the one interval in the last set when the pack was down to Chris Kelly, Grogan, Carter, and me. I had some stomach problems early in the workout but they lessened with a lot of methane release and my stop after the warm-up. The bottom of my foot hurt some and it still hurts some but not bad enough to be worried. I understand a lot of people didn't really take this workout all that hard but I am still very happy to be up with the group and not obviously struggling. I was unable to stay with Chris and Grogan on the last set but I probably wouldn't have been able to do that if I was completely healthy either. This was just like normal, a feeling I haven't had in a long time. After Monday I was very worried about my comeback being an epic failure but today makes me feel a lot better about it.
Still, I have a long way to go because my body isn't quite ready to be put through an all-out race yet. My legs are sore in many places and I have to get a bunch of muscles used to doing this kind of thing again. My breathing was pretty good all-in-all today but I am sure it isn't what it should be for the comback to really work. I still have some foot issues to sort through as well. I am thrilled with today but still cognizant I have a lot of work left to do.
