March 23, 2011 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
The plan earlier was to do a 30 min steady state at like 6:00 pace. That would have been longer than 4.5, so we shortened the workout to just a 4 mile steady state.
Got to practice and it was pouring outside. Everyone wanted to stay in, but Nick and I were going to stick it out. Carter and Chicago Chris ended up joining us also. Warmed up via little italy. They were going fast, but I held on. Knee has been tight lately, but wasnt a problem on the warm up. Got to MLK, did some various warm up drills. It had stopped raining by then.
Nick and I were aiming for 6:00 pace for 4 miles. We went out a bit fast (5:45) but got to the 2 mile under 12. Slowed down on the way back (12:07). Knee cap was not doing too well on the way back. It felt like it was on the outside of my leg. Didnt really hurt, but felt soooo tight. I think it affected the pace. Felt better on the cool down thought. Resting tomorrow should help but I got to stretch. It wont hurt if I run for less than 10 min though :).
Cool downed back, went straight down to lift because Nick wanted to go to a meeting. The Push up rows were real tough today. Bumped up in weight on almost everything. Back upstairs with hands full of ice to stretch, roll, L7, ice and abs with Chris, Corey and David. We were the last to leave again...
Got to find my mentality from earlier. It is time to focus that way. I am done getting psyched up. I just need to ride with the moment. It will keep me calmer. I have been working to this. I will remember why I want to do this.
