Sidwell and back! (and some insight?)

May 5, 2011 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Lovely little run to Sidwell and met the middle school runners. Very sore (for some reason), long long stretch at the end. apus tomorrow. Ok so now will go off into a little tangent (but it will all come back soon enough...kind of). Back in 6th grade I wrote a letter to myself to open 5 years later on cinco de mayo(???). I'm honestly not sure why I did or if it was for school or what (still trying to figure that out....), but nevertheless I've kept it and I opened it tonight. I had terrible handwriting. I was definitely going through my I-Ching (Daoist//philosophical) phase (........)but I thought part of the message kind of spoke to what I've been thinking about racing. So I thought I'd share. And yes, I do realize how completely absurd/embarrasing this is. Judgements about this are completely understandable and somewhat necessary. APUS is eating me right now. But it will be over tomorrow morning. Running-log has become my collection of ramblings recently. bye.

This is thoroughly a matter of the heart.
If everything you attempt, no matter how carefully planned, ends in disarray, then examine your motives.
They are the cause of your predicament.
It isn't that your motives aren't pure -- even the best intentions will fail under these circumstances.
What stymies you in this situation is that you have a distinctive motive at all.
Free yourself of all expectations, release any tenuous grip you may have on this, and roll with it.
This is totally out of your control.
There are higher powers and more elements affecting the outcome of this situation than you can imagine.
Get out of their way.

**confirmed-absolutely no relation to school.....
