Exercise Type: Run

Woke up late today because we got in lateish last night. Didnt know the workout because because I hadnt talked to coach yet. I thought a good back up would be to go down to the High school and see what those guys were doing. They have a meet tomorrow, so no workout. I finally found out I was supposed to do 3x1 mile. There was a modified meet, so I warmed up over to the loop at Stewart Park.
Felt fine going over. It was nice out (not as hot as Florida). The breeze was pretty strong. Didnt think much of it, although I knew it would affect the workout. Stretched at the start line, then did some drills. Had to wait for all the little CBC kids to pass. There were a ton of them and they were taking up the road.
I dont really know how long the loop is. I know its between 600 and 800. I just decided to do 2 laps, then go a little bit more till I thought that a mile was up. I think it was a decent approximation. These were supposed to be fast. I couldnt get on barriers, so the pace shoul be a lot quicker. Unfortunatly, things didnt really go the way they were supposed to. Splits were

I just wasnt feeling it today. It might be because of the wind, not running yesterday, running all alone, or being to lazy to eat a good lunch. Fact is I felt like crap. I couldnt push my legs fast at all. Started out fine, but after swinging back into the wind, I felt like I was standing still. I had 5 minutes in between, which felt like enough recovery. I was just dying on the second lap. On the last one, I started to feel really bad, and could not pick it up. It was frustrating. It took me a long time to catch my breath after that (alarmingly long...) My breathing didnt feel that great through the whole thing actually. Afterward, legs and back felt fine though.
I just wasnt feeling it. I had a good workout Sat and Wed, so I just got to keep my head up for Friday.
Jogged back to the highschool, then stretched, L7 and abs while watching the meet. I was definitely out of the circle. I really didnt know a lot of those kids. It was nice to talk to coach though. Rolled in the parking lot while waiting for Max, then Iced before showering.
Tomorrow, do a little run, barrier work with Matt (hes doing a workout instead of the meet) then 200 wed, premeet thurs, race fri. I should throw in hips tomorrow too.
