Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Out and around second lake with John Frey. Nice weather when we left. We felt good going out, talked about paces, and I think we settled into a very nice pace. Talked about research as we passed Lee an Beaumont. Wound around the lake and I felt like we started to pick up the pace a little. After rounding the lake, my stomach started to hurt really bad. I had already passed the bathroom in the park, so I thought I could just make it back to XCFH. I decided to stop at the Nature Center. John ran back on his own. I grimaced in pain as I saw the locked doors at the nature center (it closed at 5). In a panic and rage, I ripped off the bottom of my shirt and sprinted across the street into the woods. I emerged feeling a little better, but really my stomach hurt the whole way back. Slowed down a lot coming down Bellfield before making another pit stop. Another "shitty" run. I dont know whats up. I didnt eat much, but I did drink some water and an ibuprofen before (my ankle was a little tight, and I my lymph node thing is still a little swollen). Ill try to not make this mistake anymore.
On the other hand, the pace felt good. John and I were cruzing in the beginning. My legs felt great. I really wanted to go more, but had to play it safe.
Got back to the house, emerged from the front door in relief. I did some striders on the road, then stretched, L7, hips and abs while chatting with Steve. Rolled up in my room after.
The funniest part about the run was I was wearing my "Carnegie Mellon Sucks" shirt. It is now torn and in shambles. I will still wear it as a symbol, so that I do not forget the lessons I learned today. I hope everyone will learn from this as well.
