Exercise Type: Run

Yea...it was hot. Got through it though and didn't feel too bad. About a mile in got handed a business card for the marines mid-run. On my second loop passing by one of the "exercise stations" a man asked me about the distance I was running(on the grass) vs. on the inner part of the lake(on the pavement). I replied that it was only about .05 mi(roughly 80m). I answered several more queries regarding the weather and how I stay hydrated. The conversation then turned to the topic of calorie expenditure as he was hoping to knock off a few pounds under his new regimen. I pointed out that running and walking do a pretty solid job, and that I burn ~100 calories per mile or 1100ish per day. He was surprised to say the least to learn that I probably ate more than him most days. He aptly remarked that some of his late night "activities" result in the proverbial munchies. I tried to hold back laughter at some points at the discussion that was taking place, but it was difficult. He later complimented me on my shoes, and I soon went on my way. I'm going to miss Baltimore.
