2-mile Time Trial

Comments:
Just chilled in Peter's suite after lunch, got a little bit of a nap in. Tried to do some visualization stuff in the parts where I was awake.

Met on the track at 3:30 to warmup, over to E. 108 to East then Euclid to E. 116, E. 115 around the baseball field. Did drills then spiked up to do a lap of 50 on 50 off strides. Threw some biofreeze on a couple of places.

We started while avoiding the sinkhole in lane 1, and I was near the back of the first group. Came through the quarter in 74, and my first thought was, whoa, way too fast, but I just kinda stuck with it. Went through the mile in 5:10, which was much faster than I anticipated, but I figured I would just hold on and see how long I could keep it up. I was feeling really smooth and just started to pick people off in the last couple of laps that I had fallen off of earlier on. Came through lap 7 in 9 flat, so a 69 last lap for a 4:59 second mile.

I came into this with virtually no expectations whatsoever, so I honestly could not be happier right now. It has been 569 days since I last raced in January of my freshman year. I'm just glad to finally be on the way back.

The team as a whole looked pretty good today, and I was really impressed by some of the performances that were turned in.

Cooled down around NS through Little Italy back to Veale, stretched, Ibis, then strength tutorial before rolling and ice bathing.
