Blind Fartlek

August 25, 2011 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Wasnt really sure what to do at the farm, so I went and tested out myself. Barnes suggested that I run with him, so I started out with him and steve and the Alexes. The terrain was pretty rough and wet, but spikes made it feel better. Taping job was real good, about as good as its gonna get. Its still tight at the extremes, but fine mobility. Just got to let that part rest up and get stronger.

Joined up with everyone else, then decided to try the fartlek. Did the warm up drills with everyone, then started out. Stayed in the back with Perisa. He wasnt gonna do the whole thing, so we decided to do 3 miles. Ran conservative in the beginning on the first few, but kinda rolled into it on the last few intervals. I just felt really good, I remembered how fun it is to be fast. I was flying and I was barely tired at all. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I was going at probably 70%, and I stil dont feel perfect confidence in my footing, but it was good enought today. Didnt hurt at all. Take it smart the next few weeks, then Barnes thinks Ill be ready to go at Penn State Bherend. I trust the coaches, and the team, and am excited and optimistic.

Did a nice cool down with Perisa, then stretched, L7 and some good abs before rolling back. Iced when we got back to Veale. I had a lot more thoughts going through my head today, but I cant really remember them. They are up there.

Also, havnt worn my spikes in a while, but they felt real legit.
