Weather: rainy, 65, COLD
Comments:
after a lonnnngg day, i wasn't exactly fresh and ready to run. now i remember what school feels like...just need to take it one day at a time.
first 15min were unbearable. knowing that i usually get lost, i tried to stay back with the group marisa was running with (knowing she was planning on running the same distance as me) - but the pace was driving me absolutely insane. i just needed to run. after a stressful day, i just couldn't hold myself back anylonger. so finally i just completely broke off - finally free - phew!
running fast...i just needed that...i love the feeling - the greens and brown blurring in your peripheral vision, forgetting your day, mind wandering, hair flying behind you...
at this point, the pace felt kinda easy, steady i suppose - prob on a usual day it would actually feel a bit faster than steady. the pace just felt right. that one last daunting hill wasn't actually bad at all once you get there - its always just so gloomy, looming ahead in the distance...but it was just fine. soon after i got up the hill (a block before the street ended), i passed samet's group heading back. then when i turned around, it was nice to have someone ahead of me to follow. soon, i found them 2 blocks ahead of me, and i was slightly aware of trying to stay within sight of them so i wouldn't get lost this time. luckily, even with my mind wandering, i was able to keep them in sight till i got to the safety of wisconsin, where i annoyingly got held up at several lights.
at this point, keep up the faster pace was a little work, but it still felt good.
still felt good when i got back to school.
but when i reached the 3rd floor, the weather sock took hold. i realized how cold and wet i was, and hungry, and i just wanted to go home and curl up in a ball in the heat - until i remembered the mountain load of homework i now had. i'm really just not good at adjusting to such weather socks, and its taking its toll, and it especially will if i don't get to bed on time. maybe i'll just have to start leaving right at 5:45 so i can get started on my homework...then again, its too tempting to let some time go by before having to focus back on school.
just take it one day at a time.
