Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Turned out to be pretty toasty this afternoon. Dispite the rumors, we did have a Tempo today on MLK. I felt pretty good after my long run, but didnt know where I would fall in because the tmpo got bumped up to 7 miles this week.
Got taped up from a sports med student. It was very tight around my foot, a classic basketball tape job. Went back up for the meeting. Then we went into the locker room. I am glad I got the award. It has been a goal of mine. I am going to use it to propel my training and attitude. I felt pretty fearless in the last mile of Sudeck. Lets make that 5 miles long.
Warm up to MLK, feet were tight from the tape. After going out on my 1.5 warm up, I took of a layer, and it felt much better. Did the Kamalsky warm up, the split into groups. I was just in the secnd group, but was going to turn around at the 2.5 to bump my tempo up 1 to 5 miles this week.
Started out smooth. We wanted to hit 5:45 pace. Went through the 1st at 5:50. It was real easy. Stayed up with the top pack the whole time. Mentally felt like thats where I should be. You know what that means... I need to be up a bit. Tailed off right at the 2.5 and headed back. Brandon and JFrey turned too, but they were behind me. They never caught up, and I went the whole way back alone. Pushed strong all the way to the 4, the started to feel it. I didnt have anyone around, and started to slow. I feel bad about it, but it wasnt a very good situation... went from 5:50, 5:50, 5:55, 5:55, 6:05. 168 HR at the end. Decent. I got to take off 2 min from that on Sat though...
Tired, waited a while for everyone else to come in. Then we headed over to the track. Had stomach ache, so I pit stopped in Wade. got to 300's late. They were tough, I didnt feel that fast. I feel like my foot speed is behind. I dont feel that tired, and recover quickly, but I cant get the turnover. Something to focus hard on. Brandon and I cooled down then to Veale.
Straight down for a pretty tough lift. The bar was messing up my wrists. Its tough since we are so tired, y form gets sloppy. Finished well though. Back up for Static 1, roll, ankles, L7 and abs. Iced a little, but we wanted to make it to Fribs in time. Late night. After these few days, I will begin to compose myself for Calvin. There is no reason I shouldnt PR. I have trained way better than in freshman year, and I feel stronger.
