Back at practice. Leg feels a lot better walking around. Running shouldne be that bad right? got it wrapped up before we left. I just did a 1.5 mile warm up since I havnt run in a while. It felt really foreign actually, which was kinda weird. It was windy at the track when I got there. Sly was chilling there too legit. Everyone else showed up eventually, and we started warming up.
Smaller group, no Peter or Wyatt. Goal was 5 miles at race pace, with 1 minute rest. Seemed intense, but after the fact, it wasnt that hard. I didnt have a great workout, but I did it. Started out at 5:10, 5:13, feeling smooth, staying behind. The pace caught up to me, I started to fall back. I kinda felt unfamiliar more than really tired. Still felt fast at parts. It was also hard to run near the end because I was alone. Didnt hit the paces needed for the 25:25, but I am right around 26:20. I am still in the best shape I have been in ever I think. That would be huge. Hit a 5:18, then 5:25 for 3 and 4, then didnt time the fifth cause coach didnt want me to. Focused on staying strong. I was going slow on that one though... Tried to kick it in though.
Felt retty tired after, but I truly feel like I could string those together in a race when I need too... good? Cooled down back to veale.
We all hung around drinking chocolate milk, then went down to swim. Barnes watched us. I didnt have my goggles, so it was real tough. Did what I could... Quick stretch and rolling before heading out to dinner.
Feel decent. Happy to run today. See how I feel not taping it this weekend. I will be careful. This is it. Never saw myself in this position, and it has been time to be a champion for this team. I am not a participant or a competitor. I am honestly nervous about it, but its we all want to be, and where we all need to be. I am just writing now... I need to race.
