Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Still attempting to find a running buddy, but no success today. Took way longer than it should have to get out of the house. Jake was heading up towards Bethesda, so I went with him and he dropped me off around Frienship Metro area. Pretty chilly, definitely getting colder. Down Wisconsin to 37th to Resevoir then home. Went faster than usual steady pace, but felt nice at night. Strength work at home.
Something that's been kind of lingering in my head (I know I'm overthinking it, but there's so much time during break to think haha) is an email from Coach Goldhammer saying that it could be a good idea to start pushing base runs/recovery days more (2 times a week to be exact). I'm not sure if he meant right now or later on or what. If that were to be true, hypothetically it would mean let's say 2 workouts per week, 1 meet, 1 day off, which would leave 3 steady days, which would mean push 2 of those. I don't think I'd mind, but I wouldn't want to burn out or whatnot. Not going to. Anthony's word is the only word. Eventually though in the summer, I'd have to transition to Goldhammer's plan (and by then would he expect runs to be faster???). Steady runs get do get faster, but that comes from getting in better shape. Then, I wouldn't be sure whether to deliberatley start pushing more or to let pace naturally build. Meh. It's all really odd to think about.
