Split Tempo: MLK DAY

January 16, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
First workout practice in a while. Met at 10. Knew we had a split tempo, but didnt know the full deets. Did a 800 warm up on the track, then found out we were just gonna do a few miles. Bundled up, warm up down to MLK. It isnt MLK day if you dont do a tempo on MLK. After some brief drilling, Got into random groups and headed out. The side walk still had some ice on it, so we ran on the road a little, single file. Didnt go with the top group, ended up running by myself, kinda near Mitchell Joe and Peter. WEnt on effort, I was feeling good enough to do sub 6 easily. Went 5:54, 5:44, 5:59. Ankle was braced up, but it felt good. Decent place, even though I am sure I dont have much speed under my legs now. Slightly longer cool down through wade Oval.

Got back, mulled around then went to do strength tutorials. Kinda knew everything, just listened. Did day 1. Not sore at all, getting a feel for the weights we should be doing. Also, our folders got moved, and my old one got thrown out i think. Or misplaced...

Back upstairs, stretch static 1, roll, L7, abs and a little ice. Xtrain tomorrow and get to talk to Jess. Lets see how the schedule works out this week...?

Tired after it all, its gonna take time to get into the groove. Legs are feeling sore from all the walking around campus, I forgot how much it was, since I barely left my house over break...
