Quick recap: we were shooting for the 4x8 school record, which it turned out was 8:36. I was pretty confident that we could get it, given how fit all of us were, but we ended up missing it by 2 seconds. It started off with Henry running 2:11, which was great because he's always lacked confidence in the 8 but the rest of us worked hard to drill into his head that he could run 2:12. He handed off to me and I went out in an excited 28.mid, and I was 60 or so at the half. Unfortunately Falmouth was the only fast relay so I was on my own, so I slowed down significantly with no one to push me, and I finished my leg is a 2:07.flat. It was a good leg and I was only a second off of my PR, but considering how fast I went out I thought I'd PR. Anyway, Spencer went next with 2:08.mid or so, and he handed off to Thomas who finished us off in a slow 2:11.mid, although it was his first 800 of the season so I can't blame him. Overall I'm not disappointed, since we're now first in class B by quite a bit and if we can find a team that can push us, the record will be a given.

Anyway, the 2 mile went okay. I was recovered by that point but it's clear that my endurance is very lacking. I went out in 5:25 or so and finished in 5:42, running with a Cape kid for most of the race before gapping him with 300 to go. Thomas was ahead with 10:55, which is impressive since he was alone for the entire race after he pulled away from us 1000 meters in. Also an issue was my calves, which seem to be too weak to handle the 2 mile in my victories, which have a fairly aggressive plate. After finishing I couldn't step on the balls of my feet without pain, so I had to waddle to the ice on my heels and ice my calves for the rest of the meet. I ended up being sore up until Tuesday and there was still minor pain on Wednesday.
