Sorry for not logging much of this past month. I've been feeling kind of mentally "off" which wasn't a good thing but hopefully should be getting back on track now so to speak.

That said, today's race was about as bad as it could've been without injury. Decent start, except by 200m I was already out of contact with everyone in the race, despite opening at 35 seconds. 72 first 400 and then two really slow middle 400's before picking it back up a bit at the end.

Things I can fix before next week: 1) I forgot how short a mile race feels compared to an 8k. I need to never be comfortable in the race. I have to be feeling pain by 400m in at the latest. If anyone is reading this, please ask me if I'm hurting during the race against CMU. It would be a big help. 2)Kick earlier and harder. I didn't really get in gear until 50 to go. I need to be hammering from at least 200 out, probably farther, but that will be a goal for next week.

I'm not in the shape I hoped I was. Sorry to run a shitty race for those of you who came out to watch. I should be significantly faster next weekend. With regard to fitness and strength however, I need to work on just about everything. I have until spring break because that is the last meet I know I'll be able to run (barring injury of course), but I'd like to be feeling good before then.

I will do better. I have to.
