Coach decided to give me a fartlek today in place of the speed workout everyone else is doing because I am sick and possibly racing Friday. I warmed up to MLK with Corey, Brandon, and Nate Mercer who were doing a tempo, and Peter and Aaron who were doing tempo 1000s. It felt weird to run a different workout at the same time and place as everyone else. Early on in the fartlek I was actually maintaining a net sub-6:00 pace, but that ended as the easy segments started to catch up with me.

My cold is still a factor, but less debilitating than yesterday after 11 hours of sleep last night. My nose was emitting copious amounts of yellow/green liquid and I felt my stomach angry that said liquids were draining into it, but I also felt alive or at least much more alive than yesterday.

Every time I started to think my nose was going to stop running, I realized it's snot.
