Heard about this workout earlier in the day and was pretty pumped by the time practice rolled around. Warmed up a little under three to the outdoor track. Drilled, strided, stretched, until the baseball team finally got off the track. 400 repeats at mile race pace until failure to hit pace. All with ~35s rest. Workout started at twilight. Ran by myself since nobody else was targeting my pace. 76 was my cutoff but 75 was the goal. Coming in I was hoping to get 8 reps. Slow on the first but that was ok. After 4, I was just hoping for six. I kept thinking that I could't run another one, but my watch kept saying I hadn't hit the cutoff and that it was time to get on the line again. Died really hard on number eight and hit cutoff, so I was done. Hung around trying o catch my breath and headed back with the men's 5k crew. Did an extra mile of cooldown on the indoor track afterwards since I was short on mileage after Tuesday.
