Day 2 Lift

I came into today in a sour mood, both from the weather and Coach having given us a workout that looked miserable to me on paper. Much to my dismay, we were also supposed to wear spikes. My stomach felt terrible from trying to drink a bunch of water all day and I could taste acid in my mouth on the warm-up.

Nevertheless, I shut my mind off and just started running 74-75s as Coach Lanese had told me to do. I ran the workout with my shirt off becuase I knew that if I was going to complain about the weather I had no room to talk if I didn't at least do my part to make it better. I ran the workout with Wyatt after breaking into smaller groups because the steeplers were running over hurdles. As I ran it became apparent that the workout was not especially difficult and I could have easily hit 6 of these (the workout said 4-6 but I did 4 because I am racing on Friday). I wasn't starting to get tired until the last lap of the intervals and didn't feel as though each interval was any harder than the last.

I ran all the 400s except the first one with all of the guys distance runners and was pushing it to try and run them well. I also ran a 63 for the first time in...well...I'm not even sure but it's been a while.

This was a surprisingly good workout. I felt smooth and strong the entire time. Of course, wearing spikes (I think it's also the first time I've ever done that in a workout) should make it considerably easier. But this still went quite well.
