Shimmering Late Long

March 25, 2012 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Cool

Comments:
9:30pm start. Ran from Michelson to NP-Shelburne-Laureldale to Fairmount and back. Slow on the way out. My right quad was unpleasantly sore and tight and I wasn't sure at first whether to continue the run or call it a day and head back. Stopped briefly at Coventry and decided that the best thing to do would be to continue to run and get it loosened up. Made it out to Fairmount and was feeling better and the downhill on the way back certainly helped things. I got into a rhythm and started cruising pretty well. Saw very few people out and about. A total of five not in cars. Legs still a little sore and weak but hopefully this was a good thing.

A note: the dew on people's grass has an interesting way of reflecting the streetlights as you run along. There is at least one fixed line of light ahead of you reflected at your eyes, and the space immediately surrounding the shadow of your head gets this cool aura effect from the dew. Pretty neat.
