Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Back to Delaware for the second week for the all ohio. We have never done this meet before. I always thought it would be fun and a good competition. Turned out to be good for some, bad for others, in good and bad ways. As long as it helps up get our shit together for the real championships, conference... It was really rainy today, pretty much all day. Made us find shelter in odd places, including the gym, and we also had to move some events inside. Coach talked about how the weather should never affect our race. For me it never does... there are so many other things to think about.

We warmed up on time. did the same route as last week, but David was with us this time. Felt really good warming up actually, about as good as I could feel with my legs all beat up from this week. I went hard wed to try and keep up and show my speed. Thats what I would need to employ in the race. We got back and the rain actually disappeared. Kinda hesitant to go over and start stretching. Good thing since the meet was falling way behind... like 30 mins. We had a lot of time after fitting in the drills and hurdles. They drills didnt feel great, kinda a sign. I really focused on getting myself mentally ready, to stay focused mentally the whole time. It halfway worked.

The extra time didnt make that much of a difference, still felt ready to race. Went out fast in a big group. Coach told me and Mercer to go out in 81-82. We were in the back of the group. After the first water barrier (Where a kid ate shit and I had to jump over him) we started raceing. I think we still went out fast. The hurdles there were awful since the group packed up and I had to stutter. FInally got some room, and we seperated out. After 3 or so, ended up in front of a pack, off from the pack David went out in. Not a great situation. I think my pace started to slip down there a little to 83s, unexceptable. I was going perfect through 4, then lost it. Mentality slipped in the last 3 laps or so, which turned into bad barriers and bad water jumps. I had too much at the end and almost caught a pack of 4. Just unsure of when to use it? Still working out the kinks of racing after being out of commission. Still a darn good race with a season best and close to a PR. I have so much more in there, and it all got to come out at conference. Coach and I both know I am getting to form at the right time, which is a relatively new thing for me. I am putting myself in the best position with my circumstance, and I am excited to go out there and race. In the end, no excuse to not keep up with that Oberlin kid in our heat, since I crushed him in cross. He had a beast race... That makes me know I can beat someone who can go 950s. Overall, better race mentally, some kinks to work out in practice, but more so a wake up call, that I can be up there. Also, it rained the whole time which was pretty badass.

Long cool down with David, he wanted to do more when we got back from the cemetary, so we looped around the greek houses. Nice up there, but it was still pouring. Got back, stretched a little in the field house, then chilled the rest of the day. Legs actually felt ok, stomach didnt hurt though :( got to get it like last all ohio thats the sign of a crazy race. Means I can go harder...

Also, made it all the way through passover. Broke it with some nice pizza. Legit

We on our way, and lovin every minute of it.
