WU: ~15:00 from CMU towards Pitt, over to the botanical gardens and back same way trying to stay flat (with Corey)
10k: ~low 34s
CD: around track (with Corey and Megan Milne)-

The UAA 10k was a much deeper event once the final entries were in than it had been all year on paper. My goal was to try and score for the first time ever for our track team and I ran the race in an attempt to do just that, regardless of my final time. The race went out really fast and I tried to hang with them for a while. I hung around for a couple miles, but my pack started to break when two U of Chicago guys tried to break off the front in places 8 and 9. Seeing eighth I followed them and it broke me. I spent the rest of the race falling slowly away in last place yet again. This time, I kept a little bit more composure than my previous Outdoor UAA 10k at Carnegie Mellon and did not break down. Coach, Ethan, Little Joe, Steve, Chris Kelly, David, Megan, and some of the Carnegie Mellon guys all still continued to cheer me on and make the rest of the race a little more bearable. I decided to run the last lap hard this time just because it was my last, even though I'd long given up on this race both for place and time. I remember finishing down the homestretch with the announcer saying the senior Tim Smith was finishing. I crossed the line and thanked Coach for her support, this time thankful for my career and all it was rather than concentrating on just the ending.

I walked out into the football field and cried and hugged everyone on the team who came out to watch and cheer me on. Thank you all for everything you said to me and for your support.

No matter where I end up and what I end up doing, I will miss all of you from the bottom of my heart. The past five years I've had the time of my life. I hope I've helped to brighten your days even half as much as all of you have done to me.
